The phone feels very sturdy, the slide action is very smooth and it’s basically, well-built all round. In my opinion though, the keypad kind of impedes your ability to text quickly, although it looks very nice. I found it annoying to adjust to the keypad. Would always have a habit of pressing two keys at once by accident. Obviously with camera specs this great, the phones taken stunning photos for me, although others seem to have had issues. I’d say it’s better value for money than the N95, especially if you’re not interested in GPS.

Sony-Ericsson K630i User Guide:

When I first asked how much is samsung g800, I was really suprised at its price, especially considering all its features. It’s the greatest of all Samsung phones so far I’d have to say. The 1st one with a Flash Player. Very equisite build quality, stand by and of course, the amazing 5MP camera.

Take my work, this phone is over-rated apart from the camera. Its thick, hefty and has a crappy color display, not to mention hardly anything loaded.

To anyone who believes this is ripping of the Nokia N95, dont be ridiculous.
I’ve owned both, and even if it was a copy, the G800 has yielded much more quality media, mainly photos than the N95 or N81. Also, the cover is highly durable, as its made out of metal.

Owner of a G800 here, and got lots of problems with the camera. In the auto-focus mode, even when the flash is de-activated the results are way too bright. The opposite occurs in normal lit situations, the image comes out much too dark and poor.

Has anyone had any problems with the g800 photo quality problems?

Had a couple of issues:

1. Quite sensitive to hand movements. Worked out a technique to hold the phone in my hand rather than the fingers, but still cant take auto-zoomed pictures without them being blotchy. anti-shake function is BS I reckon.
2. Close up of people’s face seem poor. Their skin have all these marks on them, which basically ruin it.

Yes its true that in areas with good lighting, you can get really quality images. I’m not denying it, the G800 has a pretty lame ability to capture pictures in not-well litten conditions, even with its xenon flash. You’ll have to experiment to get used to it.
