I bought this phone with high expectations but i was thoroughly disappointed. Feels like a brick, and doesnt give a good feel in hand. The keys are too small and get mixed up. T’ts difficult to sms. Not very handy while using WLAN and browsing. Only good feauture is the music player rest is ordinary. Sold it only after using 3 days.
I’ve had my Nokia N81 8GB for about 2 weeks now and have to say that it’s going strong . The speakers are sufficiently loud, the sound is reasonably clear. And you will be pleased with good memory size.
The trouble is that for the price you have to pay for this phone it feels very cheap when you actually use it. I am sure the bizzarre rattling noise has been mentioned in many reviews. In addition, the phone also makes very strange creaking noises when you slide it upwards. Also, the buttons feel very cheap and make the same strange creaking noises. I suppose the only consolation is that you’re not likely to hear any of these noises if you use your phone in a noisy environment. However, considering the price you pay, you don’t expect your phone to feel like a cheap toy from China. It looks expensive but feels very cheap. Nokia N81 8GB battery problems and Nokia N81 8GB Hanging are common.
I just got this phone and I have ABSOLUTELY no complaints, it is the best phone I’ve ever had, the keys are perfect and the review says it has no bumps in the keypad to feel when texting blindly but each row has a ridge on the bottom so its not a problem at all, plus the gaming keys on top aren’t hard to press in the retail version, this phone really is amazing and the clarity of music when played on the stereo speakers is fuckin sick, if anyone has any questions I can answer them for you, again best phone I’ve ever used and I’ve been changing phones every 3 months for the last 7 years so I’ve seen quite a few and this is honestly amazing.
The only thing that could top it is if the front keys were ditched the screen lengthened and made touchscreen but I’m guessing that is what Nokia will release next year when they start producing their touchscreen lines, again perfect phone.
Hi,
The N81 8gb is in my hands for a week..
For me, changing the handy every 4- months, The specifications are great but the usage
is not so good…The pros & cons are:
- Noisy back cover
- Noisy buttons
- difficult to use yes/no buttons
- 2MP cam.(otherwise noone would buy n95) but it doesn’t matter, quality is good..
- You can easily press the music buttons while trying to press C button..
- IPod-like wheel but only works for music player
- screen resolution is much better than ugly N95 but cannot be compared to best N80
- Very fast when compared to previous ones
- Slide is pretty good..
Wow, what a shocking handset. WORST EVER!!! 4 hours battery life?? try 3, and the N95 was about 2!!. Nokia, USE SONY ERICSSON BATTERIES, or take half the crap off your phone so it dont use a heap of life.
WORST PHONE EVER!! If you think Nokia are still kings, use this phone for 1 week!! Nokia should be behind Motorola (4th) on the list. My K850 kicks all Nokia phones!
