One of the less known brands compared to the phone giants, Eten have made a very valuable and affordable smartphone. Unfortunately, my experiences with it aren’t universal - many consider the glofiish a flop due to its mountain of poor functionability and bugginess. Otherwise, If someone’s willing to be unique and step away from the common brands, I couldn’t think of anything better than the eten glofiish x800 phone. However, with its lower price compared to other phones of this calibur on the market, it does have its issues: the glofiish joystick is Really annoying to get used to, and the sound quality could be better for instance. Even the glofiish firmware update to x900 didn’t fix a lot of problems.

Eten Glofiish x800 User Guide:

KEEP AWAY!

HSDPA on this phone is a damn lie. It’s just UMTS speed that claims it’s HSDPA. It doesn’t bother me that much (the difference in speed) only that they lie like that.

It’s dropped my liking for eten a LOT.

Owner of a x800 here:

The biggest problem I’d say with the glofiish is its consistency. At times it will be lightning quick, the suddenly if you have more than one app open, it’ll just lag or if you’re unlucky enough, hang. The camera is meh. Other inconsistencies include the speaker quality, fuzzy and distorted at times, while other times clarified and clear. When I keep trying to register new software it keeps coming up with language problems too. It’s basically a flop….

Sluggishness with this phone usually comes down to memory overload. Like a PC, hit the RAM button and close any processes or apps that aren’t necessary to have open. I’ve had it for a number of months now and I love it. Sure it’s not as great as some other phones on the market, but for it’s price it’s by far the greatest value.

Had my eten glofiish x800 sms problems right from the start. Store says I needed a new sim card: BS! It did absolutely nothing.

Three days after getting this phone, it crashed and wouldn’t turn on for a few days. After eventually turning on again, it would crash after playing a video. I am however a big fan of the design and screen of the phone. But 64 MB of ram? COME ON! If I were Eten I’d consider recalling this model. I’m returning it back to the store this weekend.
